Die PBC Foundation organisiert zum diesjährigen internationalen PBC Tag rund um den Globus einen ganzen Tag Webinare, die sich mit allen Aspekten der PBC befassen und alle live stattfinden. Nach der Präsentation können Fragen gestellt werden.
Dank der verwendeten Technologie ist eine Live Übersetzung der schriftlichen Kommentare möglich, so dass wir in der eigenen Sprache lesen und Fragen stellen können.
Das erste Webinar findet in Australien, MESZ 02.00 Uhr, statt. Prof. Martin Weltmann hält einen Vortrag über PBC in Australien, in dem er sich mit der PBC Diagnose, den Behandlungsmöglichkeiten und den Pflegepfaden in Australien befasst. Dieses Webinar ist australienspezifisch, aber sicherlich nicht uninteressant.
Ab 10.00 Uhr beginnen die allgemeineren PBC-Webinare, die sich an alle Menschen auf der ganzen Welt richten. Diese Präsentationen werden auf Englisch gehalten, allerdings mit dem schriftlichen Übersetzungsdienst, für alle die nicht Englisch als Muttersprache sprechen.
Dr. Marco Carbone wird über PBC-Pflege unter dem Einfluss von Covid-19 diskutieren und darüber sprechen, wie wir als Gemeinschaft vorankommen können.
Sicherlich auch spannend wird der Vortrag von Professor Dr. Ulrich Beuers aus den Niederlanden sein. Er referiert um 12.00 Uhr MESZ über die Wirkungsweise der PBC Medikamente und ihre verschiedenen Mechanismen.
Um 21.00 Uhr beendet Dr. George Mells den europäische Teil der Präsentationen.
Er erörtert PBC und die Genetik, ein Thema, das viele Fragen aufwirft. Wie bei allen Sitzungen wird es auch hier die Gelegenheit geben, Fragen zu stellen.
Die Webinare können auch auf Facebook angesehen und mit anderen geteilt werden.

The last session of the day, taking us from 23.00 all the way through to our midnight finish in the UK (still only 3pm to 7pm in the US) will take a detailed look at the AASLD Guidance Lay Version with Dr Robert Gish. Dr Gish co-authored the piece with the Foundation in 2019 and it has become a useful tool to help patients in USA self-advocate for better care.
